Salmon River
Yes, Dead Water is out, and the blown-out conditions over the weekend have cleared up. Today is the first day since Friday that the river has been clear enough to fish, and it is looking great. There are fish out there, and more on the way so now is the time to start thinking about spring steelhead fishing. If you’re planning a trip out here, be sure to give us a call so we can give you an update on conditions.
Mackay Reservoir
The ice is still 12″ thick, and we have had recent reports that the kokanee fishing has been great lately. We were told this morning from a Mackay resident that the best time to get into them was 5:00 p.m., and anything pink with a wax worm was the key bait.
Jimmy Smith
Still producing lots of good rainbows- little baited jigs or jigging spoons.
Big Lost River
The river is flowing around 90 cfs, so still fairly low, but warmer temperatures should be producing some Blue Wing Olive hatches, along with Baetis and Midge hatches.
