Steelhead fishing on the Salmon river has been slow this week. One of the problems is there are not many fisherman out and not much water is being fished. The weather has been nice, but the water needs to warm up a little before we see much action. The water clarity is great. If you plan on fishing I would suggest staying below town and fish slow and methodically making sure you cover as much area as you can at each run. The fish are not going to be chasing a fly or lure very far with the water temperatures the way they are. Try using flies with black, purple or blue in them or copper, brass, blue or green spoons.
