It is still very much winter in the upper Salmon River drainage. The Deadwater ice jam extends for about 12 miles, and ice jams clog the river from Pahsimeroi upstream to Stanley. There is fishable water from the Pahsimeroi river mouth to Salmon, and there have been reports of a few fish caught. Slow drifting dark flies or cured eggs should work, as well as slow jigging spoons. Stop by or give us a call for the latest updates on river conditions and catch rates.
