Salmon River Fishing Report

Steelhead fishing on the Salmon River has picked up a little between Salmon and Challis. Deadwater went out on Feb 28th so we should see some fish moving upriver. River temperatures are in the mid 30’s. It’s still going to be challenging getting a boat on the river around Challis, but most ramps are open below Cottonwood all the the to Red Rock. Last reports were tht Red Rock is not. With warmer temperatures coming up fishing should improve. Trout fishing has been good, so if you can’t pick up a steelie you should see some action with trout. Stay tuned for more info as fishing picks up.

Still waiting on the Feds to give the go ahead for season to stay open after the 15th.  We are still being told that there should not be any problems, and will will let everyone know when we have more info.

Fishing on the Big Lost has been good. With warmer temps take some midge patterns and baetis nymphs and drys.
