Steelhead fishing on the Salmon River has picked up this past week. The fall fish have moved up river above town and we are seeing newer fish moving into the Challis area. Water conditions are continually changing from clear to green depending on the day due to the weather and temperatures. The good thing is the fish are still biting most of the time. Blue and black flies like the Steelhead Hammers are working. We would suggest sticking with darker flies for now . Gold, copper and blue/silver spoons are working best for hardware. River temperatures have been bouncing from 35 to 40 degrees. It’s time if you plan on catching a fish this year. Give us a call for more information at 208-879-2500.
