Fishing Report

Steelhead have made it to the river sections around Challis, however the cold temperatures have kept the river slushy for most of the day. Weekend temperatures are supposed to be quite a bit warmer which should allow from some great fishing. Swinging large dark colored flies (nymphs or streamers) are working best, as well as spawn sacks for bait casters.
Ice fishing at Mackay reservoir has been very good with 10-12 inch kokanee being caught, always with pink jigs and wax worms. A Swedish Pimple above the jig is always a good addition.
