The steelhead are definitely on the way! 22 tagged steelhead have passed the pit tag reader at the Elevenmile station south of Salmon.

Trout fishing on the river has been very good- fall is the best time to fish the Salmon river near Challis. October caddis have been observed so a good sized caddis pattern should do the trick. People fishing the river are catching quite a few bull trout, and some really nice-sized ones. Big streamers or spinners get those big predators to bite.
